Peace Sign (Nero Cross)

Also known as the Cross of Nero. Many people are not aware of the origins of this symbol or how it became to symbolize peace.
The Nero's cross has also been recognized as a "mockery" of christianity, as it is thought to represent a broken, upside down cross, within a circle representing "Nero's vision".
It is thought that Nero believed that the destruction of Christianity and all Christians would bring peace, thousands of Christians were martyred under the rule of Nero.
This is what the "peace symbol" represents regardless of what it means to you.
Also know as "The Dead Man Rune". It appears on the tombstones of some of Hitler's SS troops.
It has even been rumored that the proliferation of the sign was on-part due to a Soviet conspiracy to encourage the sign which had a hidden anti-christian design.

Aquarius

Aquarius is the eleventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation Aquarius. In western astrology, the sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Aquarius is considered a "masculine", positive sign. It is also considered an air sign and is one of four fixed sign.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Aquarius roughly from January 20 to about February 19.

Aquarius has ideas to take humanity out of its restriction to the social order into a wider sense of community. Values freedom and equality, encouraging others to claim what it considers is their due.

Capricorn

Capricorn is the tenth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Capricornus. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Capricorn is considered a "feminine", negative sign.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Capricorn by definition at the moment of winter solstice, or roughly at December 22, and leaves it around January 19.

Capricorn is content to work within the social order in which it finds itself and seeks success therein. A great sense of responsibility and a determination to complete any project once started. Seeks tangible results.

Scorpio

Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Scorpius. Scorpio is considered a "feminine", negative sign by most modern astrologers. It is also considered a water sign and one of the four fixed signs.

Individuals born when the Sun is in this sign are considered Scorpio individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Scorpio around October 23 and exits around November 22.

Scorpio needs to delve beneath appearances to reality. Nothing superficial will do. Try small-talk and Scorpio will move away to look for more fertile pastures where its emotional intensity can be engaged.

Libra

Libra is the seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Libra. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Libra is considered a "masculine", positive sign.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Libra on the moment of autumnal equinox by definition, or around September 22, leaving it around October 24.

Libra, symbolised by a pair of scales, has an ideal of peace, balance and harmony in all life. A pity reality rarely matches this ideal for long. The desire for relationship is strong, but like all air signs Libra has a problem with the emotional complexities therein.

Virgo

Virgo is the sixth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Virgo. In western astrology, the sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Virgo is considered a "feminine", negative sign.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Virgo roughly from August 23 to September 23, leaving it at the moment of autumnal equinox, by definition.

Virgo's great gift is the ability to discriminate between what is useful and what isn't. It is at home with the details that others find boring. When Virgo relates to you an important occasion you may boil with frustration waiting for the relevant conclusions to emerge from the carefully ordered account of events leading to them - Virgo knows what is useful but bores you with the details anyway.

Leo

Leo is the fifth astrological sign of the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Leo. In astrology, Leo is considered to be a "masculine", positive sign. It is also considered a fire sign and is one of four fixed signs. Leo is ruled by the Sun.

Individuals born when the Sun was in this sign are considered Leo individuals. The Sun is in Leo roughly from July 23 to August 23.

Leo radiates warmth, light and goodwill like the Sun which rules it - and likes it if you notice it doing so! Leo at its best is confident and decisive, has an overall perspective on life and can bring out the best in others.

Cancer

Cancer is the fourth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Cancer. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Cancer is considered a "feminine", negative sign. It is also considered a water sign and is one of four cardinal signs.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun enters Cancer on the moment of summer solstice by definition, or roughly on June 22, leaving it around July 23.

Cancer is the home and family lover of the zodiac. The break-up of families and the use of houses as just somewhere to live rather than places to create real homes is painful, and leads to the forging of alternative families in other settings so that the feeling of being at home can be enjoyed.

Gemini

Gemini is the third astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Gemini. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In astrology, Gemini is considered a "masculine", positive (extrovert) sign.

Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in the sign of Gemini roughly from May 21 to June 21, ending at the moment of summer solstice by definition.

Gemini takes an interest in anything initially but gets easily bored. A seeker after information, passing it on to others whether or not it's worth the trouble. A winner if clear thinking is what is needed in a crisis.

Taurus

Taurus is the astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from Lance Deinhardt the constellation of Taurus. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes.
Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Taurus roughly from April 21 to May 21.
Taurus enjoys the sensual world for it's own sake (compare Virgo which has to do something with it). Down to earth, pragmatic, will stubbornly pursue a task to completion without deviation once it has the impetus to get going (which may take a while).

Aries

Aries is the first astrological sign in the Zodiac, named for the constellation of Aries, called "The Ram" in the Greek tradition, after the golden ram that rescued Phrixos, taking him to the land of Colchis.Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Aries roughly from March 21 to April 20, by definition beginning at vernal equinox.
Aries gets things started and then pursues them with gusto (but maybe not much practical common sense). Life is like a battle to be entered into and won. Your will must prevail. All is possible. If impossible it just takes a little longer (or so you believe).

The Ascendant

The Ascendant or rising sun, is the zodiacal sign and degree that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the specific time and location of an event. If, for instance, this degree happens to be in the Cancer section of the zodiac, the newborn individual is known to be "Ascendant Cancer". Another individual may be "Ascendant Leo", "Ascendant Sagittarius", or "Ascendant Capricorn", and so on.
Therefore, it's the moment of the day when one is born that determines one's Ascendant.
The nuances brought by the Ascendant to the general characteristics of the sun Sign are by no means negligible. The Ascendant modifies and particularizes the sun Sign. For instance, a Sagittarius individual with the Ascendant in Aries is not the same personality as another a Sagittarius individual but with the Ascendant in Pisces . The former will be inclined by the Ascendant Aries toward dynamism, heroism, and confrontation, whereas the latter will be inclined by the Ascendant Pisces toward more ponderation, moderation, and reverie.

Sun Cross

The sun cross,The wheel cross, sun cross, Odin's cross is a cross inside a circle, is a common symbol in artefacts of Prehistoric Europe, particularly during the Neolithic to Bronze Age periods. It is the simplest conceivable representation of the union of opposed polarities in the Western world. It often stood for the sun and for the tree of life. It may be compared to the yin-yang symbol of the Eastern world.
A similar astronomical symbol represents the Earth, while the Sun is symbolized by a circle with a central dot.
Along with other ancient symbols, Pagans use the sun cross in practicing a reconstruction of ancient Celtic, Germanic and Slavic pre-Christian religion and culture.

Caduceus

The caduceus (pronounced from Greek "karykeion," κηρύκειον meaning "herald.")

The caduceus served as the symbol of Hermes and Mercury, the Greek and Roman messenger gods. The caduceus was the sign of a herald and hence a logical symbol for the messenger. However, because of a misconception, the caduceus became the sign of the US Army Medical Corps. The Medical Corps should have chosen the symbol of medicine, which is the rod of Aesculapius , which has only one snake and no wings atop it. No wings were necessary since the essence of medicine is not speed. The single serpent that could shed its skin and emerge in full vigor represents the renewal of youth and health.

The caduceus with its pair of snakes coiled about each other bears some resemblance to the structure of DNA, the double helix, which was only discovered in modern times (in 1953, if that is still in "modern times").

Star and Crescent

The star and crescent is the best-known attribute used to represent Islam. It appears on the flags of many countries in the Islamic world, like Turkey and Pakistan.

Surprisingly, this symbol is not Muslim in origin. Rather, it was a polytheistic icon adopted during the spread of Islam, and its use today is sometimes contraversal in the Muslim world. The crescent and star are generally said to be Islamic symbols, but historians say that they were the insignia of the Ottoman Empire, not of Islam as a whole.

It is important to know that Islam has few traditional symbols, and the crescent moon and star are not ones that are recognized as traditional symbols by Muslims. The symbol is due to cultural circulation and spread of Islam to the Ottoman turks who ruled a big area and aswell put the crescent moon and star attribute on their flag. It has since then become associated with Islam.

Hexagram - Star Of David

Six pointed star, when surronded by a circle, it represents the "divine mind" (a affected of God's wisdom) to many occult groups through the centuries. Many still use it in occult rituals. But to Jewish people, it is their Star of David.

While generally used as a symbol of Jewish identity it is used aswell in other historical, religious and cultural contexts, for archetype in Islam, and Eastern Religions as well in Occultism.

generally recognized as a attribute of Judaism and Jewish identity and is aswell known colloquially as the Jewish star or "Star of David". Its usage as a sign of Judaism began in the Middle Ages, though its religious usage began earlier, with the current earliest archeological being a stone bearing the shield from the arch of a 3-4th century synagogue in the Galilee. A other enduring symbol of Judaism, the menorah, has been in use back BCE.

High Voltage Symbol

The term characterizes electrical circuits, in which the voltage used is the cause of particular safety concerns and insulation requirements.
High voltage is often present when storms created downed power lines. Power centers are the source of a great deal of electricity and should be respected as such. Construction sites can also have high voltage areas when there is a need for electricity to power the site. This symbol puts one in mind of a lightning bolt or a staggered exclamation point.

Radiation Sign

The international radiation sign (trefoil) first appeared in 1946, at the University of California, Berkeley Radiation Laboratory. At the time, it was rendered as magenta, and was set on a blue background. The modern adaptation is black against a yellow background, and it is drawn with a central circle of radiuss R, an centralized radius of 1.5R and an external radius of 5R for the blades, which are afar from each other by 60В°.
